Nick Triani's awesome radio show. Currently my favourite radio show where Nick plays all the best music. Bands you can hear on the show vary from big indie gods (a la Flaming Lips, Eels etc) all the way to some fabulous small finnish bands (like Marian Valinta). And there's often very interesting guests. Bands like Red Carpet, Bridget, ultrasport, The Rollstons (just to name a few) have appeared on the show as a guest. Monstrously highly recommended. Every thursday at 7 pm - 9 pm on Radio Helsinki.

Triani plays lots of demos etc on the show. So if you have a demo or record that you feel he might play. Send them to him.

Obviously there are no guarantees that he will play yours, but the guy has a great taste and if he likes what he hears, he usually plays the demo several times on the show. So it's a good chance to get your music heard in the best finnish radio show.

Kappas Vaan

A show hosted by Lasse Kurki and Jonna Tervomaa. Plenty of great tunes from different eras. There aren't too many shows where you can hear bands like Left Banke, Big Star, Zombies, Jellyfish...Well it's not just classics, of course you can hear also the coolest new tunes. Every tuesday at 5 pm - 7 pm on Radio Helsinki.

Radio Helsinki In General

Those two above were just good examples. If I lived in Helsinki, I would listen to radio so much more than what I currently do. Why can't every station be like Radio Helsinki. No playlist, good hosts, great music. Love it. You can listen to it on the net. Check out the address below.

Kitarama

It replaced Räkärodeo, but it's no reason not to like it. The show is really good. Pekka Laine is a good host and he certainly has a lot of all-round knowledge about music. And also Miettinen is on air 30 minutes in every show. Every wednesday at 9 pm on YLEX.

Leena Lehtinen

On air every wednesday (unless there's ruma-klubi) at 11 pm on YLEX. Just after Kitarama. I must say that I kind of agree with Matti Eräsaari (Harry Hunks) who said on desibeli's interview that there should be a radio channel where Leena Lehtinen could be on air all the time.

Kirjava Satama

New program on YLEQ. Hosted by Miettinen, Juhani Kansi and JP Pulkkinen. It's always nice to hear something different. Every tuesday at 9 pm on YLEQ

Besides being a record label, Aisti also arranges some damn fine club evenings usually at Yo-talo, Tampere.

Flavour Of The Month

Takes place in Turku. Nowadays often at small place called Pikku-Torre. Always great bands and the DJ's Jyrki Martian and Mikko Lappalainen play some of the finest pop and rock music.

New great club in Vaasa. Usually held in Sky Bar and every sunday. Bands, guest dj's etc.

Marsu On Paras

Marsu on paras! It's a lovely club which takes place at Bar Alahuone, Helsinki. Members of Harry Hunks and Panu from The Rollstons are behind it. Marsu have also released a couple of vinyl singles.

Well the name basicly says it all. Pop club where you can see the best finnish pop bands. Takes place at klubi, Tampere.

Support your local singer-songerwriter! This somehow seems like the best idear ever. A club where everyone can get on stage and acousticly play some of his/her songs.
