The Weather Station – All Of It Was Mine

Before getting completely lost in the world of power pop it’s good to remember that I do love other things almost as much. For example unique and magical folk music of The Weather Station sounds absolutely marvelous to me. Ok, I can’t say that I’m an expert on Toronto-based The Weather Station aka Tamara Lindeman, because I’m just listening to her new album All Of It Was Mine for the first time. However, I’m already completely captivated and ready to believe that this is a special record. The songs are intimate & amazing and and I love the bare & beautiful sound of the album. Somehow listening to this made me think of Sibylle Baier’s beautiful folk classic Colour Green and I suppose that can’t be a bad thing. The album just came out on You’ve Changed Records, label that only seems to release great records.
