I was walking to a party on a winter night a few years ago and this song started playing out of nowhere. I have no idea how it appeared on my playlist or why I never heard it but on the way to this party I got the shock of a perfect song. I've heard it a thousand thousand times since. It's so good. What he did, that was great, is just...worth everything else, I would gladly subsidize a lifetime of Stiv Bators records to get these gems. I'm glad to find your post because as a rock n' roll song, as a piece of pop, as a mood, as a composition, it's untouchable. Beats top ten lists all day.

I love Disconnected. Just for your information, Stiv was a big fan of mid-1960s garage rock. If you are familiar with the Nuggets collections, then you'll have a good idea of what inspired him musically. In fact, "Too Much to Dream" (Electric Prunes) and "It's Cold Outside" (The Choir) both came from Nuggets, along with "A Question of Temperature" (Balloon Farm) on Lords of the New Church's debut and "Hey Little Girl" (The Syndicate of Sound, which wasn't on the original Nuggets that Stiv would have listened to, but is on the modern 4-disc Rhino Records edition) on the Dead Boys' debut.
