Another quarter of a century, another new music weekly. Thanks for all the kind messages about the 25 years of onechordnet. I appreciate them and gives much needed encouragement to continue for another.. how long it ever may be. It does feel kind of empty now, because that was sort of a target I wanted to reach. It almost feels like I’ve given what I have to give and I could pass the reigns to the younger generations. But no, I don’t have any plans to quit. This has been a part of me for so long that it will keep on going on in some shape or form.
The release schedule gets super crowded for the next month or two. There was 35 international albums and EPs on this one and probably missed some too. Needless to say I haven’t properly listened more than a few at this point. The Finnish part of is again bit buried on the latter half of the playlist, because of so many international albums. I like to start with this those, because this has listeners around the world and they might not be super interested in the Finnish language stuff. I’m sure the regulars who are just interested in the Finnish stuff will just locate that section and jump there. Another great M.I.Laine & Sortumavaara single saw the light of the day and that’s always special. I’ve been shouting their name from the rooftops or well at least on instagram stories for close to a year now and will continue to do so. Marvellous stuff. We also have great albums from Lempi Elo and Ville Ahonen plus singles from Amuri, Astrid Swan, Jussi Suonikko, Eerie Deer, Nicholas Francett and Marty’s Random.
Some early faves on the international singles category came from David Myhr, Brower, V.V. Lightbody, Johanna Warren, Hello Emerson, Dillon Warnek… again just to name a few.
