One Chord to Another Playlist Volume 3

I did a couple of these playlists during the spring and then I just forgot the whole thing. Maybe it’s time do a few more. This one has another approach though and these are mostly new songs. Turner Cody might be 2013, others are 2014 I think. It’s not supposed be best of 2014 or anything. These are just some songs that I’ve loved during the past few weeks and months. 20 songs and over an hour of music. It starts with the latest outtake from the forthcoming Frontier Ruckus album and ends with Strand of Oaks‘ stunning Jason Molina tribute JM. Flannelmouth, Lac Belot, Ochre Room and Nopat are the Finnish bands/artists on it.

Flannelmouth – Forgotten Tapes

The Finnish masters of melodramatic guitar pop Flannelmouth are back in this ball game and released a new single and music video a few weeks ago. The song is called Forgotten Tapes and it was released by Bianca Pop Music. A full-length album should follow later this year. Ochre Room – Cabin Sessions

This is something really special. The finest Finnish band perfectly captured on film. Ochre Room – Cabin Sessions was directed, shot and edited by Sami Pöyry (Monadi-filmi). Somewhere between a live session and a short film says the press release and that sums it up nicely. I did add the embed code below, but please do visit the vimeo link or hit full screen, because you probably can’t capture the whole beauty of this by staring at that stamp-sized window below.

The first four songs on the video are from Ochre Room’s latest album Box, Bar & Diamond that came out in April 2014 (Lumpeela Julkaisut / Beste! Unterhaltung).
