A bit behind schedule, because I’ve been focusing on live music and went to see live shows five days in a row. But here’s what I managed to put together.
Kiki Cavazos made the album of the week. Really big release week in the in rootsier side of things altogether. Bobby Dove, Kevin Carducci, Rachel Brooke are all big in my world. And there’s a whole lot other great releases too. There’s new albums from The Electric Weepers / Austin Stambaugh, Bland Halen, The Reds, Pinks and Purples, Jason Dea West, Fables, Meredith Edgar, The Junipers, White Fence, Hrishikesh Hirway, Gia Margaret, Pearla, Taylor Dallas Vidic, The Abramson Singers (EP), The Milk Carton Kids, Mikaela Davis, Ben Jarrell, Blood Sucking Maniacs, Kyp Harness, M G Boulter (EP) and Jackie Mendez.
Finnish part of this has albums from Mikko Juvosen Kanuuna and Keidas plus EPs from Oudot ajat and Moppi (these EPs are not on Spotify). Then there’s also singles from Lintudisko, Tams, SILVA EMILIA, Sin Cos Tan, Viive, Tomi Puukko and Aleksi Mattila.
Let’s put the new Styrofoam Winos as the international single of the week. Other early faves came from Beefheart & McQuinn, The Tubs, Yea-Ming & The Rumours, Alela Diane, Johanna Samuels, John R. Miller, Sequoia, Ruth Garbus… again just to name a few.
That’s all for now. Like, share, follow and all the usual promotional nonsense. It all matters. There’s couple of extremely highly recommended international visitors in Finland this week. Corb Lund and Hayes Carll will play in Helsinki and Tampere. I will miss this one myself, because can’t get out of work in time to travel to a different city. But please make my FOMO stronger by going. The Tubs will play in Helsinki and Turku, so this one I will see myself too at 8raita on Sunday. Love.

A few Bandcamp cuts for the lovely non-streamers:
Oh and do buy the vinyl/cd/download. Spotify and other streaming services are perfect for these introductory purposes, but try to buy at least the music that matter the most to you
I’ll make the playlist on Spotify and then transfer it to other platforms. This means a few tracks might be missing from the from the other platforms, if they are not available there. Oh and there’s a bunch of older episodes on my Spotify profile, if you miss an episode or want to revisit.
