Flavour of the Month this friday at Pikku-Torre. This one will be great. Ochre Room was fantastic last time they visited FOTM and have since released their magnificent debut album. Henri Koskiniemi will share the stage with Ochre Room. More in the Finnish press release below.

OCHRE ROOM FLAVOUR OF THE MONTHISSA

Tamperelainen alt.country/americana-yhtye Ochre Room palaa Flavour Of The Monthiin perjantaina 2.11. Kivassa nosteessa oleva bändi on juuri julkaissut hienon debyyttialbuminsa Evening Coming In ja levy on jo ehtinyt hurmata kriitikot (mm. Aamulehti 4/5, Hämeen Sanomat 4/5, Sue 9/10, Desibeli 4/5). Syksyn aikana ahkerasti kiertävä ryhmä esiintyy nyt toista kertaa Pikku-Torren FOTM-klubilla – jo ensimmäisellä visiitillä kävi selväksi, että kyseessä on harvinaisen lahjakas ja sävykäs bändi.

Illan lämmittelijänä kuullaan Getawaycab-yhtyeestä tuttua Henri Koskiniemeä, tällä kertaa soolona. Tunnelmaan sopivasta levymusiikista vastaa tutusti Flavour Of The Monthin DJ-tiimi.

Neglecting the blog has led to such sad state of affairs that I’ve failed to even mention several extremely important new Finnish releases. Back in september Kevin returned with a new album entitled Ebb and Flow. The album came out 12th of september on If Society. It might not be easy-listening, because the songs are mostly long and there’s plenty of psychedelia and progressive elements. So it’s fair to say that it doesn’t stay on my own comfort zone all the time, but there’s plenty of elements that I do love as well. Pop melodies, harmonies, 60s & 70s rock, beautiful soundscapes etc. Ebb and Flow is a bit of a challenge as a whole, but mostly a rewarding one. This is the opener Standing on a Rubber Band.
