Last week Lojinx released the first outtake from the upcoming Ken Stringfellow solo album Danzig In The Moonlight due out 1st of october. I found this rather thrilling, because The Posies are my all-time favourite band, Amazing Disgrace is my all-time favourite record and I have pretty much the same kind of affection towards Ken’s earlier solo albums (well only half of This Sounds Like Goodbye is great, but Touched and Soft Commands are perfect from first chord to last word). I also received a digipromo of the new album Danzig in The Moonlight few days ago and I have already completely fallen in love with the album. I could just listen to the last song You’re A Sign for hours and I think I already have. And that’s just one song. This album holds a giant amount of melodic beauty inside. This first single/outtake is entitled Doesn’t It Remind You Of Something and you can listen to it below. Much more about Danzig in the Moonlight closer to the actual release date. One more thing and an extremely important one. Ken Stringfellow is once again touring in Finland. In case you didn’t know, Ken is also a magnificent live performer and these concerts will be amazing. Finland tour dates are:

Yer Bird Records will release Greater Pacific’s debut album Incandescent on 4th of september, which means I will get back to this in a few weeks. I just have to make a quick post about this first outtake And You All Remain With Me, because one tweet is clearly not enough. This americana song only last 129 seconds, but I love each and every one of those seconds. The appetizer couldn’t be any better and I’m really hungry for more. The earlier EP was already really good, but this is something else and on a whole another level. Listen yourself below.

This blog is not really up-to-date at the moment, but let’s write one news bit straight away. The excellent Mama Bird Recording Co. (also responsible for releasing Barna Howard’s debut album which is one of my top 10 albums of the year so far) released Denver’s self-titled album today 14th of august. I’ve been looking forward to the album since Mama Bird released the excellent first outtake Way It Is a month or two ago. I’m just listening to the album for the first time on Spotify and it really does sound like magnificent country album and I think this beauty will be ready to enter the album of the month/year contest once I’ve spent some quality time with it. I think I have to get my hands on that vinyl at some point, even though settling for the digital version would be a cheaper option. Denver comes from Portland, Oregon and shares some members with the wonderful Blitzen Trapper. It might be a lot said, but I think I even prefer Denver. Not that it’s a competition.
