This blog is not really up-to-date at the moment, but let’s write one news bit straight away. The excellent Mama Bird Recording Co. (also responsible for releasing Barna Howard’s debut album which is one of my top 10 albums of the year so far) released Denver’s self-titled album today 14th of august. I’ve been looking forward to the album since Mama Bird released the excellent first outtake Way It Is a month or two ago. I’m just listening to the album for the first time on Spotify and it really does sound like magnificent country album and I think this beauty will be ready to enter the album of the month/year contest once I’ve spent some quality time with it. I think I have to get my hands on that vinyl at some point, even though settling for the digital version would be a cheaper option. Denver comes from Portland, Oregon and shares some members with the wonderful Blitzen Trapper. It might be a lot said, but I think I even prefer Denver. Not that it’s a competition. Here are the first two outtakes The Way It Is and Reno from the new album.
