Another week, another weekly playlist.

Your sorry excuse of a music blogger is again here with a new playlist and it’s time for the episode #34. After one slow week, the release schedule got back on track and it was tough to find room for everything on this little playlist and so left out a couple of high profile singles. Also my favorite songs of the week, the new songs by Micah Schnabel and Matthew Milia are not available on this Spotify thing (at least not yet).

Let’s start again with the new international albums. Ian Daniel Kehoe released the first one under his own name (he released several great albums under the name Marine Dreams). This new album is very 80s and very brilliant. K.Skelton is someone that I didn’t know about before seeing his name on China’s feed some days ago. I followed him then out of interest and when the album become available on Friday, I found out that it’s really good. The new find of the week for me. Long time favorites Strand of Oaks, Andrew Bird, Jenny Lewis, Weeping Willows and Lambchop also released great albums (ok, Lambchop’s album is not exactly my cup tea, but that doesn’t make it bad. Lambchop gets to decide what they sound like, not some narrow-minded twat who writes a blog in his bedroom). There’s also songs from the most likely excellent new albums by Orville Peck, Lucy Rose, Matt Andersen, Kieran Kane & Rayna Gellert and Paulusma (new solo from frontman of the legendary Dutch group Daryll-Ann). I used the phrase most likely, because I’ve only skimmed through these very briefly at this point. B.B. Palmer’s gorgeous country album came out on in February, but your ignorant blogger missed it back then. It’s pretty damn good, so I featured it this time around. The new EPs on the playlist are from Sun June and Sofia Wolfson.

That Terry Allen & the Panhandle Mystery Band set that just came out on Paradise of Bachelors is also super interesting, but I’m not sure does that narrative stuff really fit that well to a playlist so I left it out from this.

The Finnish section is pretty strong this time. We have a new Sur-rur album, which is a parade-worthy event even on its own. Plus then there’s a new song from Veli (Tolbiac, Red Carpet etc). How sweet is that. Oh and there’s more. There’s a new single from Hulda Huima! A new double-single from Hot Heros & Janne Laurila. Eikä siinäkään vielä kaikki. New singles from Tams, Matti Sakari and Samae Koskinen.

And last but not least the new international singles. Every song would be worth a namedrop, because I like all of them. Some major ones for me were the new singles by Taylor Knox, Damien Jurado, Bob Hund, TK & The Holy Know Nothings (new Mama Bird family band from Taylor Kingman), Reb Fountain, Swimming Bell and Charlotte Cornfield.
