Adam Remnant – When I Was a Boy EP

image

Lately I’ve been spinning the new Adam Remnant EP When I Was a Boy. Adam is an Ohio-based songwriter and he used to be the frontman of a great band called Southeast Engine. I had no clue he had a solo release coming out, but thankfully Captains Dead (one of my most trusted music sources) pointed me towards this.

Anyway, When I Was a Boy is out now on Trailer Fire Records and it’s pretty amazing. I’m not entirely sure am I smiling or crying while listening to it, because the struggles of adulthood certainly hits close home. Maybe striked even a bit too close when I was driving home after an 11-hour work shift and the opening lines of this song called There Beside Me started playing in the car stereo.

The real standout track of the EP is still this phenomenal closing song Rewriting Tomorrow. Oh my. This song. Everything about this song.

Click Clack Clackity Clack

nappe

You might think that now I have completely lost it and while that might also be true and a fair assumption, Click Clack and Clackity Clack are actually songs and Canadian music treasures.

Click Clack is a song by Nap Eyes and outtake from their Thought Rock Fish Scale album which sits firmly on my 2016 top ten. Not the best song on it, but magnificent nevertheless. There’s a music video for it that I haven’t posted and that was the reason for this blog post.

The song title Click Clack of course made me of think of a song called Clackity Clack that appeared on Michael Feuerstack’s 2015 album The Forgettable Truth. That’s just how my mind works and I can’t miss this opportunity to post this wonderful song again. Clackity Clack and the whole album still sound perfect to me. Pick it up in case you missed it last year.

Darrin Bradbury – Elmwood Park: A Slightly Melodic Audiobook

elmwood

Darrin Bradbury will release his new album Elmwood Park: A Slightly Melodic Audiobook on 9th of September. He is a great songwriter and storyteller from East Nashville. Besides the songs I highly recommend his recent blog entry called Sudden realizations, my dog has zero clue I’m a songwriter. It sure made me smile. Anyway, this is an early shout out about the forthcoming album that is most likely wonderfully. I’ll get back to this once I’ve heard the album. This is Darrin Bradbury’s marvelous new song Counting On Love.
