Another quick late night round up of releases that I love. We’ll start this one from Nashville, Tennessee with Maya de Vitry’s exceptional new album Violet Light. Reflective, deeply moving and perpetually beautiful folk album. If you want a recommendation for tomorrow’s Bandcamp Friday, I would like to shout this from the roooftops. Or well maybe instead climb on top of the mountain and gently whisper Violet Light into the air. Love this album.
Next we have a magical new single from Portland-based folk songwriter Erisy Watt. Her new album Eyes like the Ocean will be released by American Standard Time Records on the 1st of April. This beauty of a song lift the expectations sky high and I look forward to hearing the whole album when the spring arrives.
Then across the border to Canada. Saskatoon to be more precise. Songwriter Ellen Froese has recently released a couple of singles that you may have heard, if you follow the new music weekly. I’m not exactly sure are these advance singles of a forthcoming album or just separate singles, but what I do know is that both are gorgeous and I love them. That In the Sun music video is also pure gold.
We’ll wrap this little blog post in New York with songwriter Renata Zeiguer. More spring magic will hit our hearts on the 8th of April when her new album Picnic in the Dark will be released by Northern Spy Records. Here’s the tremendous lead single Sunset Boulevard along with the equally impressive music video.
