The new Matti Jasu and The Loose Train album I mentioned a couple weeks back is now out and available. It’s entitled Samurai vs. the Computer, it is wonderful and the obvious new choice for that album of the month slot in the right. It’s only available digitally at the moment, but you can pre-order the CD from the bandcamp page and you’ll get the download now and the CD when it will be released in mid-august. This one below is You Should Know By Now. You can stream the whole thing at bandcamp.

Janne Laurila – Musta rasia / Kyynaamat

One of my favourite finnish singer-songwriters, Janne Laurila just released a marvellous new single Musta rasia / Kyynaamat. This beautiful 7″ single came out on the excellent Lumpeela julkaisut. If you can’t play these kind of black round thingies, it’s also available as a digital single from the usual places. Musta rasia and Kyynaamat are first outtakes from an upcoming album that will follow in the winter of 2013. You can preview the songs at iTunes. Physical copies are also available at lumpeelajulkaisut.com in case your local store doesn’t have it in stock.

Matti Jasu is set to release a new album

Yeah! Matti Jasu will release an album sometime soon. I’m extremely excited, because the soundbites I’ve heard from this upcoming Matti Jasu & The Loose Train album so far have all been excellent. These include a couple of recording session videos. The great Fingers Crossed video already surfaced late last year, but if you missed that beauty back then, check it out on the brand new Matti Jasu website. This video I posted below is a new video from the same sessions entitled Flood Over the Gate. Marvellous stuff. More information (and another great song) at mattijasu.com.

INDIAANIKESÄ PALAA

Turun Pikku-Torressa vuosina 2007 ja 2009 järjestetty Indiaanikesä-minifestivaali palaa klubikartalle kesäkuun ensimmäisenä viikonloppuna 1.-2.6.

Rajusti Suomen pienimuotoisimman kaksipäiväisen musiikkitapahtuman tittelistä kamppailevan Indiaanikesä III:n tarjonta jakautuu tällä kertaa indiepopimpaan perjantai-iltaan ja rockpitoiseen lauantaihin.

Perjantain pääesiintyjäksi on kutsuttu pienoista paluuta esiintymislavoille tekevä turkulainen kulttiyhtye Wojciech. Toisena aktina esiintyvä Goodnight Monsters on myös viettänyt hiljaisempaa eloa kahden Bone Voyage-merkille tehdyn hienon albumin jälkeen.

Lauantaiksi on kasattu melkoinen blues-rock’n’roll-gumbo. Illan aloittaa instrumentaalista bluesjyrnytystä tarjoileva Devil Box, toisena lavalle nousee 50-luvun rytmibluesia ja 60-luvun garage- ja beatmusiikkia yhdistelevä The Good Times ja lopuksi baarin tasaiseksi lanaa rockduo helvetistä, aina tehokas ja vakuuttavasti jyräävä Black Magic Six, jolta ilmestyi taannoin jo kolmas täyspitkä, Brutal Blues.
