New album Making Do will be released on 14th of october by Fullsteam Records. There’s two songs from the album on their myspace player. Pretty damn good songs too.

Koria Kitten Riot has signed a record deal with Solmu Records and the album will hit the stores on the 28th of october. More about this during the week of the release.

Vote Bääbs to the eurovision song contest

Today you can start voting for Bääbs. YLE have chosen 30 songs for this first stage of selecting the finnish entry to the next eurovision song contest. Only 3 of them will make it to the next round where they are companied by those lame invited acts.

Bääbs is Päivi Kankaro from TV-Resistori and the song You Don’t Know Tomorrow was written by Viola’s Riku Kärkkäinen and Tommi Forsström. It would be great to see such a lovely people make it all the way to Oslo. And obviously I don’t need to vote them just because they are good people. The song is really good as well.

Oh and there’s actually more good people in the contest. Jussi Petäjä has two songs in the competition. One with his great band Captain Cougar and one with his new project Blackbird. Marcus Granfors (aka Frankie Magnum) from Vaasa is also in the game.

Stream I and Love and You at npr.org

The Avett Brothers album I and Love and You is already out as a vinyl. CD and Digital download will follow on 29.09.09. However, you can now stream the whole album at npr.org in case you don’t have a record player or don’t want to wait for a week. I think the album is just marvellous and I don’t mind that it’s very piano-driven. Surely I would also like to hear more of that bluegrass side of the band, but this new material is equally stunning. Easily my favourite album of the year and yet I still feel that The Avett Brothers might be able to make even a greater album than I and Love and You. Nevertheless, you can expect one of those way-too-emotional five heart reviews in a few weeks time.
