Another quick summer edition of the new music weekly.
Coltt Winter Lepley made my album of the week. Well I guess it’s an EP actually. Anyway, there’s a whole lot of great songwriting in there and it’s a wonderful release. A name to keep an eye on. Could be huge one day. Other album gems this week came from Graves, Tami Neilson, Bonnie Dobson & The Hanging Stars, Sister., Allo Darlin’, Alfie Firmin, Girlatones / Forever Son (split), The Wind-Ups, The Innocence Mission (EP), Mal Blum, Martha (rarities comp), Murry Hammond, Van Darien, Bob Lefevre & The Already Gone, Mike Polizze, Gary Hector (this is from June, but I missed it at the time), Tanner Usrey, Andy Boay and Leroi Conroy.
Finnish part is a bit shorter this time around, but the quality is high. There’s a new album from Ptak and singles from Spotless Souls, Echo Tapes, Figaro and Eero Savela.
International song of the week is the new single from Alice George Perez. That’s a week old, but I found it after last week’s episode. Instantly loved it and have been listening to it all week long. Extremely highly recommended. Some other early faves came from The Fishermen Three, Katie Spencer, Abe Partridge, Dylan Earl, T. Hardy Morris, Hello Emerson, Pete Posie, Otis Gibbs, MJ Lenderman (Jason Molina cover), Michael Hurley… again just to name a few.
That’s all for now. Like, share, follow and all the usual promotional nonsense. Next weekend is the Odysseus Festival at Korjaamo, Helsinki and long time OCTA favorite Michael James Tapscott will be playing there. I will be there at least on Friday, so I’ll see you there if you are coming. At the moment I only have a ticket for Friday, but it’s possible that I grab a hotel and stick around for Saturday too. I haven’t really decided yet. In that case I might not have the time or energy to do this next weekend. So I might skip next weekend. If so, I’ll again cover two weeks with the next episode. Love.

A few Bandcamp cuts for the lovely non-streamers:
Oh and do buy the vinyl/cd/download. Spotify and other streaming services are perfect for these introductory purposes, but try to buy at least the music that matter the most to you
I’ll make the playlist on Spotify and then transfer it to other platforms. This means a few tracks might be missing from the from the other platforms, if they are not available there. Oh and there’s a bunch of older episodes on my Spotify profile, if you miss an episode or want to revisit.
